Heading 1

Based on the true story of John D'Agata's essay What Happens There, The Lifespan of a Fact follows Jim Fingal, who has a small job: to fact-check articles for one of the best magazines in the country. His boss has given him a big assignment: to apply his skill to a groundbreaking piece by legendary author John D'Agata. But now Jim has a huge problem: John made up a lot of the articles. What starts professional, quickly becomes profane.

*Directors Note: I understand there are folks in the community who will be disappointed by my decision not to hold auditions for this show. Please allow me to explain my rationale briefly - I am an inexperienced theatrical director. My last directing experience was a high school production of 'Our Town' more than 25 years ago. I am also new to the theater community here in Las Cruces. I am only now acting in my third role in local theater. I am relatively new to Las Cruces, having only been here two years. I chose this show to direct, in part, because I feel it is manageable for me and my limited experience. I decided to cast people with whom I have trust and confidence. If given the opportunity to direct at LCCT in the future I COMMIT, and look forward, to taking off the training wheels and having open auditions since I will know many more people in our local theater community by then. Thank you for your understanding and support.
